Soprano Colette Boudreaux won “deserved ovations” for her 2007 performance at New York’s Verdi Square Festival, according to the New York Times. She made her Carnegie Hall debut as L’Innocente in a concert version of L’Arlesiana. She has had major roles La Boheme, The Merry Widow and Cosi fan tutte. She has been featured in the Artists Recital Series atNew York’s St. John the Divine Cathedral.
As an undergraduate at Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and winner of the Dean’s Scholarship, she was recognized as an emerging talent by legendary mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne. She received the Jeannette and H. Peter Kriendler Scholarship at Manhattan School of Music. She performed under the direction of Tony and Emmy Award-winning director/choreographer George Faison at the Inaugural Gala of New York’s Faison Firehouse Theatre, recently performed in the cabaret, On the Sunny Side of the Street and will perform in and choreograph Sound of Music with Asheville Lyric Opera this year.
Tenor Scott Joiner has appeared with the Opera Company of Brooklyn, American Opera Projects, Intermezzo Opera Festival, Opera Colorado, Bryan Symphony Orchestra, Asheville Symphony and in many other venues. He sang the leading tenor role for the U.S.premier of the opera Selenal at The Italian Academy of Columbia University. At the Intermezzo Opera Festival, he sang the leading tenor roles in Massenet’s Cendrillon and Britten’s Albert Herring. He was a member of the Opera Studio at Manhattan School of Music, where he earned his degrees, also appearing with the American Theater Ensemble and TACTUS Contemporary Ensemble. He studied acting at New York’s Michael Howard Studios and has collaborated with many well known composers. He also performed at the Inaugural Gala of New York’s Faison Firehouse Theatre and performed a one man show, Shakespeare Sings! — an original production — at Asheville’s Altamont Theatre.
